Day 4 - The hole has got bigger !

Ok, despite the builder's saying they were going to slow down a bit, things have progressed well again today. As you can see from the photo the top sand & soil has been dug away over the whole new build area to reveal a mix of hardcore & clay. It needs to stay this way though until next Tuesday due to the Bank holiday weekend. After that it'll be the trenching ready for the new foundations being poured.

Day 3 - The Old Plinth Is Up !

Some great work today as you can see from the photo ! The old concrete plinth that was under the stable block has now been removed, the front of the workshop & partition is down & the existing drains have been exposed.
The facing brick work has also been removed from the existing main bathroom & Jenny's room ready for excavation.
The builders didn't expect to get on so fast, so the pace is going to drop for a couple of days before the foundations are dug early next week.

Day 2 - Still Knocking Stuff Down

Well despite the weather making a turn for the worse, the lads had another good day & have completely demolished the stable, along with the dog pen & the facings off the East side gable of the house (were we meant to at this point !?).

Day 1 - Demolition !

Bright and early start at 07:30, and the weather was perfect for kicking things off. The lads got on really well, and most of the stable block has been demolished & the roof removed, i addition to the removal of the front workshop roof.
Electrician was also here and removed all the electric's from the outhouses & relocated the electric fence (and feeder) to the remaining stable block, which is great. Have also kept the original light fittings as we can use these in the remaining stables.
Tomorrow we expect to have the stables completely down & hopefully the digger will arrive to make a start to breaking up the concrete plinth.

It begins !

Well the Portaloo has arrived, so the builders can't be far off !!Hope the weather continues to brighten up.
